Albore design is a new brand made in\u00a0Italy<\/strong>\u00a0that combines light design and digital\u00a03D<\/strong>\u00a0printing production. In fact,\u00a0Albore\u2019s<\/strong>\u00a0team uses fused filament 3D printing technology called\u00a0FDM<\/strong>\u00a0or Fused Deposition Modelling to\u00a0manufacture<\/strong>\u00a0its products. This is an additive process that builds objects layer by layer, reducing waste by around 90 per cent compared to traditional methods such as\u00a0CNC<\/strong>\u00a0and milling, which instead remove material from a block to create the\u00a0model<\/strong>. Furthermore, the materials used are derived from\u00a0renewable<\/strong>\u00a0natural resources and are completely sustainable. The most widely used is PLA, an innovative bioplastic made from\u00a0corn<\/strong>\u00a0starch.<\/p>\n\n

The lamps are available in three different versions, which differ in their finishes. The Layer version is made directly with coloured filaments, without the addition of\u00a0varnish<\/strong>, and this allows the texture of the 3D print to be enhanced. The\u00a0Natural<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0version differs from the other versions due to the\u00a0PLA<\/strong>\u00a0used, as it is composed of approximately 50 per cent wood or stone powder, obtained from waste from other\u00a0processes<\/strong>. This characteristic gives the printed model a natural look and feel. And finally, the Smooth version, the most manually processed. To produce the lamps in this version, the various moulded parts are sanded by\u00a0hand<\/strong>\u00a0and painted by a specialised partner with\u00a0UV-<\/strong>resistant\u00a0water-based colours.<\/p>\n\n

About Albore Design<\/h2>\n\n

Albore design is the\u00a0brainchild<\/strong>\u00a0of\u00a0Jacopo Mandarino<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Mirko Maletta<\/strong>, whose mission is to tell new design stories in a sustainable way, combining 3D printing and traditional craftsmanship.\u00a0Both<\/strong>\u00a0specialised in product\u00a0design<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0and began learning about 3D printing technology about six years ago during their university studies. After finishing their degrees, both of their attention shifted to the possibilities that\u00a03D<\/strong>\u00a0printing offered at the production level, and so they began collaborating with designers and engineers and created the first collective called\u00a0ZM Design Lab<\/strong>. After launching the first product made entirely with this technology, they decided to break away and create a proper brand, it was 2023, and\u00a0Albore design<\/strong>\u00a0was born.<\/p>\n\n

Every Albore product is made without the use of glues. This is a fundamental aspect in order to create\u00a0objects<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0that are long lasting and thus truly sustainable. The\u00a0slots<\/strong>\u00a0and threads integrated within the various models not only allow for\u00a0quicker<\/strong>\u00a0assembly but also for easy replacement of damaged parts. In\u00a0fact<\/strong>, in the event of accidental failure or breakage, only the affected part will be sent to the customer and a specialised technician will follow the user during the replacement phase.\u00a0Moreover<\/strong>, one of the greatest\u00a0challenges<\/strong>\u00a0at the design level is to give a clear and unique language to each creation. Form and function are the two elements that intertwine in an essential\u00a0design<\/strong>, capable of creating a strong physical and emotional interaction with the\u00a0user<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Collaborations, Exhibitions and Awards<\/h2>\n\n

Albore design also offers design and 3D printing services for companies and studios, and although it is very young as a\u00a0brand<\/a><\/strong>, it can already boast important collaborations with established companies such as\u00a0Terranova<\/strong>, an important brand in the world of fashion, and\u00a0Falstaff<\/strong>, a well known wine, food, travel and design magazine.\u00a0In addition<\/strong>, in the past two years he has taken part in the world\u2019s most important design events: London Design Festival 2023,\u00a0London<\/strong>, Dutch Design Week 2023,\u00a0Eindhoven<\/strong>, Dubai Design Week 2023,\u00a0Dubai<\/strong>, Fuorisalone Milano Design Week 2024, at Hotel Crowne Plaza,\u00a0Milan<\/strong>, Salone dell\u2019Alto Artigianato Italiano 2024, at\u00a0Venice<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

In 2024, in recognition of the work done during these years of dedication and constant research, Albore received two important awards: Hotel 2024 10 under 35: the most\u00a0innovative<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0digital artisans, at the\u00a0Bolzano<\/strong>\u00a0Messe trade fair.\u00a0DIA<\/strong>\u00a0Design Intelligence Award 2024 Honorable Mention Award, an international design competition held in\u00a0China<\/strong>. Even on an editorial level, the brand was recently featured in the well-known\u00a0American<\/strong>\u00a0Love Happens Magazine, which in an article recommended Albore design as the light design brand to follow in 2025.<\/p>\n\n
