ALBORE MEANING
LIGHT A NEW DAY
"We chose Albore because it conveys a clear and positive concept, the beginning of a new day."
DIFFERENT WAY
GREEN TECHNOLOGY
Albore chose 3D printing technology because it reduces design time and its production speed ensures that we can realise our designs on demand, avoiding warehousing.
INITIAL SKETCH
BRAINSTORMING
In this initial phase we discuss the idea and possible formal and functional developments.
DIGITAL PROJECT
DESIGN THE 3D MODEL
We proceed with the 3D modelling of the initial prototype, and after continuous testing and modifications we arrive at the final solution.
DIGITAL FABRICATION
ADDITIVE SOLUTION
Our 3D printing technology is called FDM, an additive process that builds objects layer by layer, reducing waste by around 90% compared to subtractive methods.
INNOVATIVE CRAFTSMANSHIP
REFINE AND POLISH
The moulded parts are checked and scratched one by one before painting with water-based paints.
QUALITY CONTROL
HAND ASSEMBLY
We assemble the various parts of our lamps and carefully check them one by one.
ALBORE MATERIALS
FROM CORN STARCH
PLA is an innovative bioplastic derived from renewable natural resources such as corn starch. We use it in its translucent version to print the white diffusers of our lamps and in its opaque version to print the parts to be sanded and painted.
ALBORE MATERIALS
WOOD FILAMENT
This bio-composed filaments containing: 50% PLA and 50% wood particles, which can give the end product different colouring effects depending on the type of plant that they come from.
The designs we create with this material are not treated with varnish, retaining their natural appearance.
ALBORE MATERIALS
STONE FILAMENT
An other type of natural filament, but this is from stone powder for 50% and 50% PLA, which gives it a similar appearance to real stone and a rough, matt finish on the surface.
The designs we create with this material are not treated with varnish, retaining their natural appearance.
MORE THAN LAMPS
GET INSPIRED
One of our greatest challenges is to give each of our creations a language. Form and function intertwine in an essential design that creates a strong physical and emotional interaction.
ALBORE'S FUNDERS & DESIGNERS
WHO ARE
We first encountered 3D printing during our university studies and were immediately fascinated by its infinite formal possibilities.
Then we shifted our focus to the possibilities that 3D printing offered at the production level and so we created our first collective: ZM Design Lab.
This initial experience allowed us to launch the first product, and to improve the entire production process, leading to the creation of a true sustainable design brand, through which we want to present the advantages of an alternative production method.
